Drive shaft seal question

I’m replacing the seals in my lower unit (20RL71S). The driveshaft seal I pulled is one seal and it’s thicker than what came in my new kit. Do I need an exact match, or can I use two from the kit I got?

Don’t know what kit you have, but the oem seal is 0321788; Sierra is 18-2032. Single seal.

If there is room, put both seals in, lower one lip pointing down, upper one lip pointing up. That will update it and be much better.

The parts website I just consulted has this note
Replaces OEM 0777537.

Please note the 0321788 is about 3/16 inch thick, it is thinner than the earlier version of seal but is still intended to replace earlier versions as shown in the cross reference search.

I.D. - 0.500
O.D. - 1.0
Height - 0.188

Against the Sierra part there is this warning
California residents:

Gotta love the California warning. Eating the seal can cause birth defects. Or something like that.
