Drive Shift Cable Adjustment

I have a MCM 140 Alpha 1 Engine # 0B429685 & Drive #0C481340.
Can I carry out the initial cable adjustment with the drive lifted out the water?

Yes, I have downloaded the manuals but did not see any reference to setting the cable with the drive out of the water. I may ahve missed that.

Ayuh,...

I don't think it really Matters,...
But,...
I'd do the initial adjustment/ measurements with the outdrive in the down, running position....
