Hi!
Here's what I did before I raise my question: Motor is 1999 Force 40 HP.
1. replaced impeller as part of my preventative maintenance.
2. assemble it back on
3. noticed drive shaft is a little hard to turn. I'm not sure if this is the same as before I changed the impeller.
4. after I finish assembly, tested it on a bucket full of water for about 10 min.
I did move the gear forward to test if forward gear works. After about 9 min I noticed my shift rod is not yet connected. turn it off.
5. disassemble it again to double check why drive shaft is hard to turn.
6. I noticed 2 lines on drive shaft closed to spline. see 2 line (like a ring) on link below. I'm not sure if these lines are already there before I changed the impeller.
Please share your thoughts before I make more damage to this expensive parts or other parts connected to this.
