First year with this new to me 20 yr. old boat. Backed it onto the gravel driveway at home after a day on the water, very proud it went right in! Unhitching the trailer from the truck without wheel chocks. As It unhitches from the ball it nudges a fraction of an inch and starts rolling down the gravel driveway. I yell and grab the safety chains to the tongue, trying to stop this 18' Bayliner and the neighbor said I looked like I was skiing but from the bow of the boat. Needless to say it ended up "resting" on our oak tree partway down the driveway. I was very lucky that the ding in the corner of the stern could be fixed and nothing got broken on the outdrive. It also could have gone another 100 ft. down a very long hill at the end of the property.
My wheel chocks in that driveway are now firmly fastened into the ground-cinder blocks with rebar ! It only takes one time...
