When I was 16 I wrecked both my parents cars in the span of two weeks  (only one was my fault though, but it was REALLY my fault)

Yeah, let's wait until 21. You can join the military and most police/fire departments and put your life on the line, but you can't drive. You have to be 21 to buy a lottery ticket here in LA which I think is stupid too. I guess when you hit 21 you suddenly get smarter.

Already have my license (I'm 17 :)), and wow, people thought I'd be all over the road, just because I'm a teen.

Proved them wrong, by taking a safety course and passing with flying colours. To this day, I haven't even come close to a signle accident thanks to the safety courses.

Although there are some safe drivers that are about my age (but they're almost non-existant :D ;)) I see so many teens that get distracted and just about hit a car or a pole.

I have a friend who started driving by himself a few months ago. Got a cheap car. second time driving, brings 4 friends into the car. Gets distracted by one of them, and he rear ends another car stopped at a red light. Front end damage to the car, back end of the other car totaled. no major injuries, but he'll be suffering high insurance rates for years. I wasn't there, but you'd be amazed at how fast the incident spread throughout schools.

Insurance companies increase their rates due to statistics, and honestly, they shouldn't say guys have the higher insurance rates, and girls can have lower rates. i've seen just as many girls that were terrible drivers. You'd be amazed what some of them do. Make up is my biggest pet peeve
