Well, I google earthed it, and it's a looooooong way!

I've never undertaken a road trip that required an engine oil change each way!!!

if you have the time and $$, drive, it's a trip of a life-time... if you are going to be on a time-frame, fly... IMHO

A few years back, I flew from Soo, Mi. to Fairbanks Ak. 13 hrs flying time in the air, and with all the plane changes 24 hrs travel time overall. It is a long way!

Years ago, I drove from Seattle to Alaska on the Alcan before it was paved all the way. I'm sure it is different today with lots more services along the way, but it was a unforgettable trip, however grueling it was.

Having taken two 3 week USA Motorcycle trips with the long one covering 8700 miles and the short about 7500

It was all about the journey and the interesting people i met everyday :D

Yep...have 3.. 3 1/2 week cross country Harley trips myself, average 7500. Never did the Alcan, but have a friend or two who has. If its a destination trip, get a plane ticket...daily fun and excitement?..go for it, but plan on bugs, lots of gas, plan the daily route best ya can. Its a LONG way, even from here in the seattle area. I'd take at least a month to do it from AZ

Wow, the romantic idea is gone.

Airline travel it is!

Unless someone else with a KLR650 wants to make the trip too...
