27' Trail-Rite tandem axel w/ surge brakes
So I'm in the middle of changing all the drum brakes, replacing the races, bearings and rear seals. Took the first drum off (right rear), brought it to the the parts store and we matched up new races, bearings and seals. Bought enough to do all 4 trailer wheels. All the parts fit the first wheel like a glove.
I get to the second wheel (right front) and notice that the rear seals I bought will not fit. They fit fine in the first wheel... It seems that the inside diameter of the second drum is smaller than that of the first.
This seems odd to me. Why would the drums differ at all? I'm curious if the other side of the trailer is going to be the same way. Larger inside diameter on the rear than the front.
Anyone have any experience with this??
Thx,
HD
