Dry pump startup

I`m getting ready to de-winterize and start up my 5.0gxib engine tomorrow with muffs. I have replaced my raw water impeller and the pump housing is dry except for the glycerine lubricant supplied in the impeller kit. I have read several posts of burning a new impeller on a dry start. Is there any secret way of "priming" this pump to avoid burning the new impeller and obtaining a positive prime.

Re: Dry pump startup

Just have plenty of water flow and pressure at the muffs and you shouldn't have a problem.
