Hello.. I need to either make a new float for my old hd-20 or dry the one i have, and re-coat it. Any suggestions on what is best to coat it with?

It's easy to just carve a new one. Raid mama'a kitchen for a cork, I found one from the bottle of one of those decorative bottles she put pasta in just for the looks, you can easily glue two smaller corks together with epoxie for a starting block. some of those high heeled shoes work too they have cork heels.
You carefully unclamp the little brass bracket from the old cork and pinch it onto your newly shaped one then coat it with that 5min two part epoxie you buy at walmart.

Coat with fuel proof dope, available at hobby shops. It's gas powered model airplane coating.
