DT15 - water flow issues?

Hi all - After changing the impeller earlier this year I notice the "telltale" hole intermittently has a good flow of water. I clean it regularly with a tiny wire but it doesn't seem to help. The old impeller was missing some rubber so I'm wondering if I have a piece of it stuck somewhere in the motor?

Idle and trolling seem to be the worst I see it, wide open I get tons of flow out the exhaust and usually out the telltale. Anything I can check for? How can I find this piece of rubber if its bouncing around in the head somewhere:confused:

Try dropping the LU and back flush the cooling through the thermostat with a garden hose. You might get lucky.

I'll try that again. Didn't see it the first time.

Could I get a small hose and flush the cooling through the tell tale? Maybe it'll float it up and through the thermostat?

Any impeller bits could have been ground up into little bits and passed through.

Is there any other way to get at the "telltale" hole and clean it out? To me it seems like on this model it's right into the block and no removable hose.
