I want to setup two 6 Gallon Plastic Tanks in the front of my 16' 1972 VIP tri Hull. I want for both tanks to feed at the same time. If one tank runs out before the other does that mean it will suck air? Is the 16 feet of fuel line too much for my 73 evinrude's fuel pump? Any thing I am missing?

I have never seen a "simultaneous" feed fuel setup. However you can add a fuel switch to switch between the 2 tanks. Other that that all i can say is to use a gravity feed from one tank to another. But at that pooint just buy a 12 gallon. As for the line lenght, I dont if it will be an issue. but if it is add a small secondary pump near the tanks to push it through.

you couls put a spliter between the tanks and the primer bulb that would work but if one did run out before then yes you would suck air

just run em, but keep an eye on the #1 tank after a few hours

make SURE you are on the second tank before taking on an inlet or the like

I am going to keep the 6 ers in the back and run an 18 in the front ... until I get that 125 going, then its time to up the tankage to twin side mounted 18's

you can NEVER have too much gas, just make sure its in a marine container

too little gas ...

row row row your boat, as its swept out to the gulf stream ...

System...
Check out the post by Chris in VA... He has virtually the SAME issue you do, and wants to carry more fuel... A good idea to have some fuel in reserve, but PLEASE do so safely...

Good Luck, Obiwan
