Hey everyone, I am new to the forum as a poster, but have used the site to gather some great info. I have a question that may seem kind of out there, but I don't think I have a whole lot of options. I just recently bought a boat and planned on using it as an all around boat. I told myself I was going with a tiller steer since that is really all I would need for what I was doing with it and I could remove it to duck hunt on some of the lakes with motor restrictions and put on a small 8hp Merc I have. The duck hunting being the main reason for me buying a boat. Well long story short I got a good buy on this boat and it has remote steering. I have been floundering, fishing, and frog gigging with it. However, now I am trying to figure out what the best way to be able to use it on the lake when duck season rolls around. I am far from expert on this kind of stuff and I hope ya'll can maybe help with some ideas. Can I try rigging up some sort of plate next to the existing motor and just mount the 8 horse next to it for when I take her duck hunting? I'm beginning to accept their may be no easy way, but am willing to do some modifications to somehow make this setup work. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
