Well, let me add my stupid human trick. Today I went to the lake to do some fishing. I was by myself as I have been many a-time before. I get to the ramp and there are a lot of people hangin around. I normaly just unhook and back her down( 14 foot aluminum)and walk on my plates on the trailer tounge and push it off. Today I decide to tie a rope to the bow hook and then back it down the ramp so far and then tie the other end to the dock. So I back her down and when I see she is afloat I pull the truck up the ramp and all I hear is a loud snap. Seems the rope got hung on the trailer and tore in half. I get out of the truck and there is my boat floating real nice and getting farther from the dock!!! A kid with a canoe is unloading and I figure he will be able to help me out. Then a guy comes over with a fishing rod and after about ten cast he catches my boat and pulls her in to shore. Buy this time boy do I feel stupid. Any way The guy reels in very slow and manages to get my boat to where I can grab it. I offered to take him out on the lake fishing for the day but he declines. ( who could blame him). At least the plug was in!!!
