dumb lower unit question+++++++

well here it is i had just bought a 1989 wellcraft w/3.7 v6 merc w/ alpha 1 out drive this is my first i/o so bear with me . my question is were exactualy do you fill the lower unit because i have looked and looked and there is absolutley no screws on either side of the out drive????? any idea ???? i had just bought the boat and have not yet bought a manual but that is the next and most importent item i will purchuse . oh yea its a 19.6 ft if that matters .any sugestions on the power of that motor (under powerd )?? thanks agan all you knowelageable ppl........................:confused:

well don s it makes sence that i have a gear lube monitor but that link still says and showes that i should have a at least 1 plug and i know there are 0 plugs and with no plugs how would you go about draining the old oil ??????? does that sound right .???or did i just have a long day and dident see it .

Look at page 1B-7.
There are plugs. Who knows why you can't find them, they may be painted over and you can't see them. But they are there. Trust me.

yep, that is a fact.... do that...... get the oem one too. not the aftermarket ones, sometimes they ain't got the facts in them.....

1b-7 looks like the page to me too.....

Ayuh,....

There most certainly Are Drain,+ Fill Plugs on your drive,....
And,....
The 3.7 is an Inline 4 cylinder motor,....
The Only V6 offered is the 4.3l.......
