Dumb question on part identification

As much as I have searched I cannot find the name of the part I have outlined in red in the pic linked below. I am assuming it's the throttle control lever, but I cannot find any such part in the OMC parts finder. Any help is much appreciated. The picture is actually just a sample pic of the net, but my motor is a 73, 40HP Evinrude electric start. <br /><br />Thanks!! <br /><br /> web page

you would think that that part would be pretty common. try salvage yards or ebay,theres proably thousands of those motors floating around.

i know i checked on brp evinrude site hard to tell by their diagrams. did you go to that site?for the life of me i cant find my omc repair manual for that size motor but im sure somebody with a little more knowledge will be along. if i find the darmn manual i will check.

I do have the manual and it certainly isn't clear. The closest piece I can see in it is the "control lever" but it doesn't seem to be the same piece in the grand scheem. Thanks for the help though. I'm sure I will be able to pick it up cheap if I know what to ask for.

checked again ,it is a control lever. part number is 0378308. that is the brp evinrude number

You are both referring to the same part. That's the one I was thinking it was but just wasn't sure. Thanks for your help! I should be back running soon.
