Bought an old project boat from a guy. Came with a Johnson 115TL79R. I’m not super familiar with outboards, so I’m kinda lost as to what this wire is. The guy had it hooked up to the speedo, but the speedo is pitot-operated so I can’t seem to understand why it would have been hooked to it. It’s a purple wire, just looks different due to sun fade. Tach? Trim gauge? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
