I'm taking a 1 wicket victory.!!!! :D :D <br /><br />This final shows why I think England are going to win the ashes, 4 years ago an England team at 33-5 would have rolled over and had it's tummy tickled but now they have a never say die attitude. Also there seems to be a decline in the Aussie team:-<br /><br />Ponting- His captaincy in this game was not good especially his use of bowlers.<br /><br />McGrath- Still the best bowler in the world but he has lost a bit of that real hostility.<br /><br />Lee- A lose cannon, maybe he is trying to hard. (that first ball beamer is more at home on a village green, not what you expect from a world class bowler).<br /><br />All in all a match that Australia should have won but let slip.<br /><br />(edit) We need more Kiwi umpiers

I am not doubting the ability nor the desire of the English to win the ashes, but as I have said before, I wouldn't raise the Union Jack and start singing Rule Britanica just yet.<br />If the English can win the test series, then I reckon that would be brilliant.... BUT.... there is a long way to go. <br />Yes, the Aussies are struggling and it dosn't look to good for them at the present, so let the war begin. I for one am looking forward to it.<br />Do you have a good shot of the Balmy Army in full battle cry? I reckon that was a classic scene.<br />I missed the relevance of the "Kiwi Umpire".Did he assist the English in some manner? :D <br />Cheers<br />Phillip

Hi Phillip<br /><br />I don't have any photos of the barmy army (or the wavey navy) but I will be at the Edgbaston test 4th Aug, I'll make sure I take the camara.<br /><br />As for the Kiwi umpire, he "No Balled" McGrath first ball of the last over (England needed 10 to win) and Giles took a single, having seen the replay it was a very brave call.<br /><br />The flags up I just havn't started singing yet, a quiet hum maybe!!<br /><br />(edit)BTW It's Rule Britania (Britanica is an encyclopedea)

I'm tipping the Aussies, 4 test to nil! (Pommie weather usually kills at least one test).<br />Remember Warnie's first test series? He 'sand-bagged' all the lead-up games then took out Gatting and Gower in his first 2 overs. And that's what they're doing again. The Poms will going in over confident and the Aussies will take great delight in pulling the rug from under them.<br /><br />Aussie, aussie, aussie!!!<br /><br />Chris....................

You havn't got anything new.<br /><br />Warnie's first ball to Gatting was a major eye opener (and still one of the most amazing wickets I've seen), but now not only can all top batsman in the world "read" him, he can't rip it as much as he used to.<br />If you're relying on Warne winning the Ashes for you you better start praying for more Pommie weather. Judging by the rain we are getting at the moment you already are :D :D

G,day guys<br />The poms will probebly release their secret weapons when Wanny bowls.<br />Weapon 1. have a group of scantily clad females parading behind the batter, garanteed to put shane off of his game.<br />Weapon 2. Hand warny a mobile phone between overs, he will be a drooling mess when it comes time to bowl<br />Should be an interesting series, lets hope there isn't a whitewash.

Thats OK Aldo.<br /><br />Your going to have plenty of chances durring the summer to get used to it. (I would have put graemlins here but to many for the post)
