Hi All I would like to make a serious point. I have just recieved the Barmy Army 'hymn sheet' for the Ashes tests. (I joined thier mailing list a few weeks ago while looking for photos)Most of the songs listed are well known to cricket fans around the world, there are a few new titles which are directed at Shane Warne and his marital problems. I just want to go on record before the start of the tests and say that I do not approve of this type personal attack on any player. Don't get me wrong if Warnie has a bad day on the pitch I will be the first to take the P but to rib the guy about his wife is just "Not Cricket". OK serious bit over, here's to tomorrow and the England lads giving you Aussies another butt kick.

I'm not going to gloat, MUCH. I can't remember, was that game played at the home of cricket? What's that ground called again? Lords? or something like that? I think there was something wrong with my TV, when Brett bowled, it looked like a blurrrrrrrrrrrrrr..................... Aldo

Edit: On a serious note, I'm having a lot of trouble watching the cricket AND the tour, they are broadcast live at the same time downunder.

Dunarunna, did you say live!! I heard the Poms batting score on the ABC news last night, then turned on the TV to see the last 5 overs broadcast live on chanel 7. Maybe the ABC reporter is physic.

Well I was expecting far worse than this. Maybe you all accept the fact that this was a little glitch in the England plan and by the next game normal service will be resumed, and by going easy on me now you hope that I may be a little less spirited with my gloating later.

Bring on tomorrows game. PS: GR spineless pieces of cr*p like that stand no chance of getting us down, in fact the main thing they managed to do is bring out the best in people.

eeboater I dont think that you are taking this seriously, the ashes series that is about to start is of upmost importance to the fine sports lovers of Australia and those drunken louts in England. By the time the series is over I expect the following to have occured. 1, The Ozzies will have whipped the poms 5-0 2, The matches will be discussed in the British house of commons 3, The Australian Prime minister will demand a hearing with the British ambassador, then recall the Australian ambassador to britain. 4, Flights between Sydney and Heathrow will be cancelled. 5, Troops in both countries will be mobolised to quell rioting in the streets. BRING IT ON

Hmmm, methinks that the cricket will probably end up with a result similar to the Lions tour that has just ended here. AB's 3 - Lions zip. It's pretty difficult to tip over an Aussie team no matter what sport they are playing. At least the barmy army supporters enjoyed themselves here. Peter

RJPS: OUR beer is cr@p? Having had to live with cloudy, warm, smelly British beer from 1978 until 1991. I left the place to come back to: Carlton Premium Dry!~ Now that's beer! And about the only decent thing to come out of Victoria... oops, sorry Aldo! However, back to the matter at hand. I think it'll be a good match... bring it, and the Ashes on.

Who else but the English could enjoy WARM BEER and COLD PIES. From the times I have visited there, I just couldn't believe it. (actually I use to buy some Fosters, (for an absulutely ridiculous price)and too cool them down, keep it out side on the windowledge. Had to watch it didn't freeze tho. The House fridge wasn't big enough for nothing). Buttttttttttt, the neat old pubs and warm hearted people made up for it. Cheers Phillip
