Dunk's Decarb Process

Hi,
I have a 2-stroke 97 20 HP Mercury that I'm looking to Decarb using "Dunk's Method". Why does he recommend using a remote 1 gallon gas tank to mix the oil, fuel, and seafoam in? Can't I just use the primary fuel tank since I'm running it empty anyways?

You can use the main tank for decarb, as long as it only has 3/4 gal of gasoline in it, plus oil and seafoam.

Some of the larger main fuel tanks will not pump the last gallon of fuel out, as a guard against water in the bottom of the tank. If your main tank is large, it may be unsuitable for decarb for that reason.

Thanks Chris. I have a portable tank that is completely empty, so I"ll just use that.
