just picked this boat up. s/n is 48394. What year was it made? The seller said 1969 but from what I've read on the net, it seems more like that this boat was made mid 60s as it doesn't have the lapstrake pressed into the aluminum on the sides. It came with a nice 40hp johnson that dates to 1960. The dataplate says the boat is rated up to 60hp. Will the johnson be sufficient?

thanks,

Chris

The johnson will be pretty fast, I have my first boat right now, a little Duratech s14r, and a johnson 15 pushes it at about 25-30 Mph.
Your boat has a very nice classic paint job and windshield. Your boat is in such good condition for it's age, I can't believe it! It's probably
a 1962-1964. Congrats again on your beautiful new boat! :)

Did I give you the specs from the Duratechboats.com site? I have a 60 on my Neptune, which is the max hp. She could easily handle more.

yes you did. I'm making progress on the boat, replaced all the fuel and vacuum lines on the motor and am rebuilding the fuel pump. The new lower unit is installed complete with brand new water pump assembly. I have the new windshield, and as soon as I can get a friend over here to help I'll get it mounted.

thanks to the information provided to me, I've learned that she was made in 1964!
