help pleaseI am looking for a starter boat. I would prefer a dusky as they hold their value and that may allow me to not get killed when i upgrade.
I found a 1888 model 203.................the hull is in very good shape , what concerns me is that the floor behind the driver seats is on the soft side. I would not say its rotted but just soft although i am not an expert.

also the bottom of the console compartment and the bottom of the fish storage are kinda flimsy like the fiberglass is loose from its base.............it may not be any big deal at all

anyway the boat has a good running (i will do a compression ck) engine with a 2001 Suzuki

the trailer is also 2001 and it an inexpensive but all aluminum trailer

has a 9hp kicker...........good cushions redone and a bimini top

boat was some basic electronics

i think i can buy it for $5000

the question is can i live with the floors like this for a while?..............do they have to be repaired?...............is there a quick fix?

i look at this as a decent $5000 boat...............i have seen very few duskys at this price and they all had engine problems vs. this one with a good engine fairly new

opinions please

Welcome to IBoats!!
If the floor is soft it's rotted and you should replace it consule seperating probably rot there too What about the transom is it at least solid Water under the floor probably has soaked the floation foam Check that hull closly , it's a big job to replace the floor, floation foam, stringers. So I would say 5 grand your paying for the motors are they worth itIf your handy and the price was lower well maybe take it on Link below to the dusky site
http://www.dusky.com/203.html

That floor is probably very rotted. You will probably end up replacing that and fixing the console for sure.
I don't know if it worth that much money.
