Working 6 days a week(Building pontoon boats no less) so when I get the chance to go fishing I really look forward to it.
Went out Sat night, boat started right up and ran great as I just did a decarb in the driveway, fished till about 11:30 pm and decided it was time to go home since I had gotten up at 4:30 am for work.
Apparently I choked her too much or the plugs were fouled from the decarb but it wouldn't start, cranked and cranked.
Now I am 2-3 miles down stream from the launch and the prospect of trolling back really wasn't to appealing to me.
Well the battery finally died so I started trolling, left at 11:45 and made the launch at 1:30am barley, another 100 yards and I think the battery woudl have died, right before the finder turned off ti said 10.8 volts, then got it on the trailer by hand.
Here is the DUH part, I go out yesterday to pull the plugs and look at them when I remember I HAD AN EXTRA SET OF PLUGS ON THE BOAT!!!!!
I was so tired it never even occured to me to change the plugs out, probably would have fired right off and saved me an hour and half.
Lesson learned, next time I decarb I will change the plugs and now I will remember I have the extra set.
