Our season here in East Tennessee is usually April-October. I am about to go crazy waiting for the months to pass.

Anyone else dying? How much longer is your wait?

It hit 70 degrees today, but there is still ice on the creek. Sometimes life is not fair.

Yes, it does get cold enough and the winds do blow hard enough that we don't always get to go out when we want, even here in Florida. However, yesterday it warmed up a bit and the seas were down enough that we got out for three or four hours just to cruise a bit. Unfortunately, the gov't found it necessary to close the recreational grouper catch for the next two months. The commercial quota didn't change however, so their boats are out there hauling in 6,000 lb loads.:(:(
Yeah, it was good getting back on the water for a while though, as our northern buddies are still trying to keep warm.:p:D

I love the Colorado Rivers which is normally April through October also. But living in Southern Cailf, I can almost hit any local lake year round but nothing compared to the river. I feel the same way; all I do is constantly work on my boat and makeing sure she's ready for the season with no exuses!!

They do the same crap here.. The commercial guys cry every year how everything is the recreational guy's fault. It gets old.
They can get a license for 1,200 crab traps, but my rec license is only good for one bushel.

All they had here in Baltimore this weekend was a dumb old motorcycle show. Nothing but shiny bikes and beautiful, well-endowed young girls parading around in shorts and halter tops. Can't wait for summer.

I, too, live in Knoxville, and I boat year round. I don't think it gets cold enough around here to warrant "storing" my boat. Granted, there are weeks where the boat will stay in the garage because it's below freezing, but overall I don't think it gets that cold in the South.

Having a non running boat in your driveway and it's 80 degrees out!!!

Here in northern NY when mom was alive;in a good year I would take her to the island mid March and drag her off ,kicking and screaming ,first weekend of December.Of course we did have to do a little ice chopping. Both around the boat and in it.

I am in Kansas and although it doesn't get below zero more than a couple of times a year I am just not a fan of Winter coats and boating, LOL. I look forward to throwing on the some shorts and hitting the lake every year...I am really getting excited because I own my first real bass boat now and I can't wait to get it out.

Re: Dying to go boating!!

We can usually get out mid april or so. I couldn't stand it any longer I had to go get my boat out of storage a couple weeks ago and put it in the garage to do a few things on it. Putting LED tube lights in it, adding 2 more speakers, adding a drive shower, and measured up and finally got the costom lettering for its name any me and my wifes name too. So needless to say this isn't helping...i'm REALLY getting antsy now!!!!

Re: Dying to go boating!!

Right after Christmas I found a guy on Craigslist with same model and year boat as mine that came flying off his trailer when somebody T-Boned his truck cracking his hull. Bought his 2 year old custom made full canvas enclosure. With that you can fish here off NJ from early April to Early December. SPRING IS COMING
