Hey Nandy you have another option to meter the RPM's and that is with a cheaper tool than the tach it's called a Sicrometer.....used ones are 5-10 bones new about 20 bones.....they work on crank virbrations ...hold it on top by flywheel and turn the dial till the rod resonates then take it off and read the rpm ...ifin your eyes are real good you can read it on the machine.....Was in my tool box and remembered about it.....great little tool very accurate
