Dynasty1991 Engine mount

First time posting, I hope I am in right area.<br /><br />I am putting a Merc 120 back in a 1991 17.8' Dyansty Elan. I am trying to find Engine mounts. I am in Seattle!!!! Nobody has a clue here about the Dynasty boats.....The engine mounts mout on the side of the block.<br /><br />I hope somebody can help.<br /><br /><br />Thanks<br /><br />Darren

I wish I did, I have a mechanic putting a new 120 merc back in. I bought the hull only, so I am trying to repower the boat. The mounts are on the side of the engine.

Merc didn't use the 120 designation in 91, and they also didn't have side mounts when they did use them. However, there are bolt holes there, and both the newest model Mercs and Volvos are using the side mounts.<br />But what you have???? Not sure, got any pictures of what it was?

I do have a picture of the hull (Engine area) The mounts are on the side. Not sure how to add a picture on this site yet. The boat is the Elan

While the Boat's engine mounts maybe mounted to the Stringers,aka. on the Sides,..........<br /><br />The motor you're trying to install,... Does,+ has Always been mounted from the Front of the Motor..........<br />There are No,+ Never Have Been motor mounts that bolt to the Side of the GM 4cyl. Motors,.........Period.............

hmmmmmm well. Not sure about this then. I have a Merc cruiser out drive on the boat now. I was told it can hold a 120 to about a 180 merc engine. The mounts to the hull are on the sides. Not sure what this all means.

There is the problem, you didn't have an engine and are trying to put one in.<br />When you said you were putting the 120 BACK in, it made it sound like that's what came out of it.<br />You will need to find out what gear ratio the drive is, that would help in determining what engine used to be in there.<br />I would guess it had a V6, with the side mounts.<br />Look stamped on the side of the drive for the gear ratio. Do you have an Alpha I drive, or an Alpha I Gen II drive? <br />is there an exhaust pipe on the inside of the transom shield? Is it a single tube or a Y type pipe?
