Re: E200TXEO acceleration problem

Ezeke, thanks again. At least I know the alarm circuit is working. On the subject of re-building/repairing the fuel side of the pump>>>>>
1) The web site you gave for the kit does not list the OMS pump. Is the kit the same for VRO, VRO2 and OMS?

2) I have spoken to two local mechanics (one is the local BRP guy) that have told me they have had bad luck rebuilding those pumps. I'm assuming you have not??? BTW they were using the OMC kits.

Re: E200TXEO acceleration problem

The rebuild of the pump can only be done on the gasoline side. The oil side and electronics are not repairable. The kits are BRP parts and are universal for the VRO, VRO2 and OMS pumps. All pumps from 1993 up are OMS. I am not aware of any aftermarket parts for these pumps.

Bill Kelly is the mastertech of Maxrules.com. If you have specific questions, he is the one to email.

It took me longer to remove the pump and put it back on than to rebuild it. I have zero problems with the VRO2 pump that I rebuilt and use for premix, but I was very careful to read and follow the instructions.

Re: E200TXEO acceleration problem

The VRO2 was last installed on new motors through 1992. After that the OMS system was used. The primary difference is that the VRO pumps had a wide variation in gas/oil ratio, where the variation in ratio on the OMS pumps is quite small, averaging 60:1.

The concern with the VRO2 pump is that it is likely to be 26 years old and possibly 30. The 30 year old VRO2 pump on my 1988 looper is still functioning perfectly, but as a premix pump, considering one rebuild of the gasoline side.

I think you meant 16 and 20 years

I hope to heck it hasn't been 30 years since 1988... or my kid born that year sure looks young for her age!

Hate to break it up boys but, should I replace the pulse limiter while I'm at it?
thanks!

If the pulse limiter is blue and gold there is no reason to replace it, but clean it well and check it. It takes a good burst of air to close the valve.
