Does anyone know what type of pump this engine requires?I was having issues with loss of RPM at high throttle and was told To pre-mix and not use VRO, so I switched out VRO with standard pump but I feel like the shop I used installed an incorrect pump. I manually prime the system and fuel will only come out the small fuel hose that connects to the crank case(which floods the lower carbuerator) I thought the small fuel line was what created the pressure to the fuel prump from the crank-case pulse vacuum, but its flooding the lower carbuerator with fuel when I prime it. The larger fuel house on the outlet side of the pump is getting no fuel, thus no fuel to any of the carbuerators. I'm Confused but I believe it's the incorrect pump. Any experience with this? Super frustrating, about to just trash the outboard.

-I've replaced everything in the fuel system from the tank to the carbuerator's and the fuel flow once it gets to the pump makes no sense.

Put a pic up of your pump. Sounds like the hoses are connected wrong. There is only one style of pump that will fit that motor. Should have 3 nipples. How is the lower carb flooding when fuel is in the crankcase? Was the VRO still working? Any reason not to use that as a pre-mix pump?

With the 3 nipple pump the fuel in goes through the cap with the screen. Should be arrows for the rest if not. Put the cap on the pump and pump the primer ball where gas comes out goes the the carb. The last nipple goes to the pulse port and make sure there is no pulse limiter there.

Put up a pic. Fuel in the crankcase does not come from the wrong size nipple. Nipples do not necessarily have to be the same size.

Lol the upload mb size is too big. It’s only 1 pic.. anyways I think the hoses are connected improperly like you said and I have the crank. Case pulse line mixed up with the bottom carburetor line that floods when I prime .
