E8RCRM 8 hp Timing Marks?

E8RCRM, Serial E0327307, 1984, Bottom cylinder misfire
Looking for factory timing marks. I made my own to get the test done but ...
I don't see anything obvious and without disassembly, it appears the timing advance linkage is fixed, that it can't be adjusted.
Are there any timing marks for reference or is it a case of "designed in and fixed" with nothing to adjust?
I'm gonna pull the flywheel later today and start going through components to see what's going on.

Set the rub arm of the points at the high point of the cam, and timing will take care of itself.

Never hurts to check for a sheared or partially sheared flywheel key.

racerone, the points are up on the shelf along with the Mercury head gaskets...lol
Key is good. Doo-dads under the flywheel look good. Haven't tested anything yet but simple enough. One charge coil. One trigger. Two magnets. I think I know where I'm headed.

Flywheel key is good. Doo-dads under the flywheel look good but I haven't tested anything yet. Looks simple enough with one charge coil, one trigger, two magnets in the flywheel. I think I know where I'm headed.

4-pin harness connector dirty, pins shorting. A mess inside.
Cleaned, realigned pins, confirmed continuity.
Timing back on track. Signals look clean.
