jc1933, I don't have that model, but a friend bought it and installed on a new pontoon boat a few months ago. I don't know how much they used the GPS part of it, but he reported no problems at all and was very satisfied with it. I can email him in Virginia and get the scoop on it if you would like. I'm sure there are others out there with this model. It flew off the shelves down here in Florida as fast as they could stock them.

Re: Eagle cuda 240 sonar+gps

Been a lurker for a while, figured I'd finally break down and register for the forum. I'll try to keep my comments fairly brief; I bought one earlier this summer to mount on the dashboard of my new boat.

I was looking for an smaller integrated unit - I prefer a relatively uncluttered dashboard area - that provided basic depthfinding capability with basic GPS functionality, with the ability to easily display components of both onscreen at the same time. My usual mode is to use the depthfinder, but overlay with my current lat/long, speed, and tracking direction. I'm quite happy with it because it gives me what I want right at my fingertips, but my feeling is that whether or not you'd like it depends on what you're looking for. About the only thing I want to play with that I haven't done much with yet is to set waypoints and use the GPS to track back to them. For me that would be mostly useful for being able to find my way back to the launch ramp when I go to a new/unfamiliar area.

I figured when I bought it that for $200 I couldn't get burned that badly if it turned out that I really didn't like it. So far, no regrets.

Do you have any specific questions?
