Eagle Magna II won't power on

I recently bought a used Eagle Magna II on e-bay. I just tried to power it on. The unit beeps and flashes a single virtical line on the display and then it does nothing. The troubleshooting section of the instructions say nothing about this kind of problem.<br />Is it junk?<br />Any help would be appreciated.<br />Thanks.

I'm not familiar with that model but I have had similar problems with an Eagle 128. The unit would beep and occasionally show a single vertical line like your unit. It was caused by low voltage from a bad connection at the battery. I cleaned the terminals at the battery and the unit has worked fine ever since.<br /><br />If after cleaning the connections it still doesn't work check the voltage at the plug. Also, Lowrance/Eagle recommends wiring directly to the battery rather than connecting to a remote buss bar.

Thanks Ken!<br />I did check the voltage at the plug where it connects to the unit. It was a consistant 12.83 volts. It looks like I better go shopping on e-bay again. This time, I'll try for a new unit.<br />-Joe
