Re: ebay question

A good friend of mine got burned like this. I really can't remember how the scam worked but I remember him telling the exact same story as you. I'm not sure if he used paypal however.

Just be careful!!!

I got burnt the exact same way about a month ago. The seller contacted me thru ebay messages and offered to sell me some home made catfish bait (4 cup for $21.00) if I sent him a money order, that he received and confirmed in 3 days. That way he didn't have to pay ebay and paypal fees. Well needless to say still no bait and he will not return my emails. I gave him a weeks notice that if I did not hear from him in 5 days I was reporting him to ebay. I know it won't get my money back but valuable lesson learned for $21.00.

Re: ebay question

I've watch eBay auctions run out with a starting bid a bit high and no bids. I'd send an eBay message to the seller, offering a legitimate price, and asking him to put it on a buy it now and notify me by e-mail so I could do the transaction. All went well.

eBay don't care as long as they get their commission.

Re: ebay question

I bought a riser when the auction ended and no one bid on it. I emailed him and he put it up as a buy it now, price we agreed on went smooth.

A little while back i received a prop for a real good price, just a slow shipper the prop guy.

Winter time boat parts are cheaper, and those guys need money, make the rent whatever.

The part might be bought like riser 15 years ago who knows, new old stock they call it.

Re: ebay question

There is nothing wrong with this.
I've been on both ends before and things worked out well.
In fact even better as the seller beats eBay out of their commission.
