I think that there are two ways to look at the proliferation of bootlegged CD service manuals.
One is that it is poetic justice that Clymer and Seloc, both of whom should be ashamed for charging people $25 - $30 for the junk that they produce, are being ripped of by the folks who sell the CDs. The other is that theft is theft, even if its theft of garbage.
On that basis, I have to say that I don't buy bootlegged CDs. That includes service manuals, music CDs, movies, etc. I am not so "innocent" that I get cranked up about occassional, low volume sharing of a few items between friends, but when it comes to mass produced bootlegging for profit, it becomes a different situation.
Do yourself a favor - go buy the real thing, scan it and put the original on a shelf, so it won't get filthy and beat up. You'll be glad you did.
