I was just looking at that windshield & asked the seller a couple questions. He hasn't got back to me yet with the actual measurements I requested. His reserve price is only $25, but I'd be surprised if he didn't get many times that in the end. Not sure if the plexi could be brought back to life?
Edit: Received measurements..."From tip to tip across the bottom, it measures 72 1/2 inches. At the center, from top to bottom it measures 20 inches." So I don't see how it could go parcel post as offered.
Anyway, what I wondered most about is his shipping estimate. He says parcel post, but I just looked up the max package restrictions, and he would be hard put to package it well and be under the parcel post measurement limits. The calculator in the auction estimates about $25 from Oregon to NY, that just seems way too low to me for a package that size. He also says "Buyer pays actual shipping cost via USPS Parcel Post for lowest cost shipping." so I wouldn't go by the estimate from the ebay calculator.
Just some thoughts if anybody is looking at bidding on it. I'd get way more specific with him about the shipping cost. I think I'll pass on it.
My current plan is to use my frame and make a new windshield with lexan, but may reconsider that because my frame is slightly bent, it looks like a tree fell on it at some point.
