You have extra holes on the intake. Your going to unscrew those carb studs on the intake and move them to the other holes right next to them. You would need a spacer if there were no other holes to move the studs.

Looks like the intake gaskets were changed too. I notice yours has some FelPro ones.

Those tall studs are Q-jet only. Pull them all, if any corrosion toss em. Get the right height for your carb and throttle bracket. Too long can be a problem with access and getting the nuts on.

Another lesson in corrosion/electroylisis(mis p) of aluminum and steel.
Gotta use perfect seal, or anything, to stop the contact. This also happens on auto.

Thanks for the info guys. Yes the intake gaskets were changed... I know cause I installed them. This is a Rapid-o long block that I put the original carb., intake, manifolds, starter, and fuel pump on.

If I decide to go with Edlebrock, what stud should I use to replace the one that are too long? Thanks!

Any autopart store will have a set of 4. Just tell them carb studs for a square bore and they will have them.
