Who exactly is it that we are punishing with this vote?

You guys are all projecting based on your own beliefs/theories or whatever. You are also assuming an attack on US soil would not have taken place had Reps retained control. Interesting that you have forgotten whose watch the last attack took place on, though.

Also, I have seen no evidence that shows we are more likely to be attacked while the Dems have control. And by the way, W is still on watch, so what is the big worry?
He has also changed gears, as you all know by now. If things were as splendid as you appear to believe, why did he do this? Where is the resolve you are all so proud of? I will tell you where it is at. He never had it. All he had was arrogance and a head too dense to acknowledge he may be wrong. Well, he has now acknowledged it, and many of you are still following the same man you have believed in even after being slapped back into reality. He was wrong and he is attempting to save his and the butt of republican candidates in 2 years. Otherwise, explain the change.

QC,

Nobody is being punished, America has simply chosen a direction they have a greater confidence in.

I disagree, this generation (mine and yours) has no stomach for anything that takes more than 30 minutes. If it is CSI, you get an hour . . .

W must now fall into that same category. The one w/o stomachs. He has changed, correct? He said progress is too slow.

Well, I tend to agree with you there, but W and the gang have had over three years in Iraq, and there is really no end in sight and no clear goals. In approximately the same time we've been in Iraq, we went from no involvement in WWII to having won it. I know it was not the same kind of war, but you are implying that people who voted out the repubs are just being too impatient and I am pointing out that W and the gang have had 3 1/2 years to show some kind of progress and it is not happening. The guy declared "mission accomplished" over three years ago, so why is the mission still not accomplished?

Bechtel has already bailed out of Iraq, cashing the checks but leaving behind a bunch of unfinished reconstruction projects. I'd say it is definitely time for a new and better plan. Unfortunately, I'm not very confident that the democrats will do any better, but it is a for sure thing that the repubs weren't getting it fixed. And in this screwed up two party polarized system that we have, you only get two choices.
