Good afternoon!

I just swapped out a 115 V-4 Evinrude from a 70 HP that was on there.

I'll post engine numbers if necessary :)

It mated right up to the transom, the steering linkage fits like a glove, but the electric connections are different. Does anyone know if there's a conversion adapter that goes from the three connectors from my control unit to the big round plug that's on the new motor?

I don't have a problem cutting off the existing connectors and hooking up a new plug, will just have to figure out the wiring...

well, your motor is a 96 or newer if it has the multiple plugs. yes there is an adapter built.

they are expensive unless found used , and even then they can be pricey...

IF...IF..you had a newer CONTROL that matched the 96 motor then :
you will be looking for a HARNESS ADAPTER called

Post 96 control to pre 95 engine harness adapter

this is basically what you need...the problem i found( needed one too!!) was they add length to your wiring, and if it was all set and under the floor, adding this piece end makes for extra wireing wrapped up someplace close to the engine!!!!!

not fun!!!

That's what I figured. There's nothing cheap about boat engines, wish I'd have known about it before I dropped money into a good rebuilt motor! Oh well, thanks for the help. Bought the dang adapter.
