Im sure it has been asked 1001 times so i will ask 1002 due to some confusion and conflicting info regarding fuel pump wiring. I have 1993 Sea Ray 24ft Overnighter 454ci bravo 1 and it came when bought with a 12v fuel pump installed. Now the wiring was a rats nest and i had to have someone sort out the mess. Long story short everything else was fixed BUT the pump wiring. Before the "fixing" of the wires i would hear the pump when i cranked. All the sudden i have to crank a lot in order to get it to prime. It has the relay (new) it has both the oil switch (new) and oil sender (new). Can anyone walk me with how to wire properly to prevent excessive cranking.

Sounds like you need to start testing things to see if power goes where it is supposed to. Power for priming comes from the outboard small lug on the starter solenoid. I would disconnect that wire - should be pur/yel, and then then have someone crank the motor over while you check for power during cranking. If there is power, next SUPPLY power to the pur/yel wire and listen to whether you get pump spinup.

Rick,
When the job for the wire reinstallation was going to take place the electrician removed them and now i have to start from scratch. I checked the outer terminal and there is nothing connected there. All i have on the starter is the battery pos and the yellow/red inner terminal wire. I came across this video and i want to ask if this is the correct or right way to avoid future problems with cranking.

I started watching the vid but its 15 minutes long. It appears he is doing it correct, but that said

It does run once started
That being the case, all that is needed is a wire from the outside post on the starter (purple/yellow wire in pic) to the hot side of the fuel pump. Doing this applies 12V to pump when cranking and does not effect the run circuit

Perfect, i will add an extra wire from pump pos to outside terminal on the starter to reduce exesive cranking and pump operation during cranking. Thanks all
