Re: Electric Legality

It depends on the laws where you are. It's regional. Best to check with your local authorities in NJ. In Calif, in some lakes it would be ok, in some it would not.

Re: Electric Legality

I was thinking of using a 110v gen and a heavy duty charger, just to keep the three 27 series RV batts up to snuff

Re: Electric Legality

If the ban on gas engines in your local lake is to prevent pollution, you may be ok. If the ban is to prevent noise or to allow wake-free use of the water resource for wind and paddle propelled vessels, you won’t be ok. Those are the two reasons that I know of in Calif for the ban of gas engines on boats on some lakes. That’s why I suggested checking your local authorities; find out what the ban is actually for.

If you get the green light to motor out with your gen and bats, please let us know how it goes.
:)

Is a nuclear powered turbine drive out of the question? It doesn't produce smoke or belch half burnt 2 cycle oil...? :D :D ;)
