I think Bass Pro shops sells this boat too. They also have a regular 18' Tracker pontoon with a big electric outboard too (150 lbs. thrust?). You might want to consider the Tracker 18' pontoon with 25 HP Mercury outboard...lots biggger and INCLUDES 25 Hp outboard and is much faster and only $1,000.00 more than the puny $7,995.00 Eldebo that moves no faster than 5 knots with limited range. MinnKota makes a DUAL electric outboard for pontoons.....use this inplace of the 25 MERC if you want and the price will be the same as the Eldebo with a much larger boat. credit for the Merc 25 HP electric start outboard is about $2,200.00.
Shop Smart! ;)

the pond/lake we will be using this on is strictly electric motor only cant even put my john boat in the water unless i remove the 9.9 hp on the back of it just trying to find something to carry the kids around on to do a little fishing close to home. will check out bass trackers pontoon also to see how it will do also the lake has a very poor ramp so weight will also be an issue

that extension cord can be a pain when your in the middle of the lake......

I think one question you really need to answer is:
are you going to want to take this boat any place else and use it? or just leave it in the lake by your house.

If your going to want to take it places, then you will want to go for something that you can not only use in your electric only lakes, but something you can pull that cord and start up your 25 hp motor and go for a cruise for several hours. Just my .02cents

dwaynefromva,

We live on a no gas motor lake in Frederick County, MD - so know what you're up against. We've had success with jons "powered" with medium thrust trollers. Lots of our neighbors have pontoons in the 18' - 20' range powered with either Ray or Reservoir Runner electric outboards. They get along quite well and seem to be able to fish/cruise most of the day on well charged batteries. Even have one guy with a 16' mod V Lowe with a Res Runner who actually creates a wake! Here are the URLs for both motors: http://www.rayeo.com/ and http://www.qis.net/~jmgraham/rr500.htm

Good luck,tcube
