elecm stands for electric start, 20" shaft length, 1998, model run "m."

You may find that your model number is E90ELECM.

A 1998 motor will not be an electric shift.

1st is for Evinrude, 2nd E is for electric start. L is long shaft, 3rd E is for 9, C is for 8,
