I have a 1992 j30teenr and i found a broken bolt on the inside of the engine cover that came from the starter bracket in the front above the carb. Also i noticed the one on the side above the battery relay is missing also, it looks as if it was broken too. i guess these are stud bolts with threads on both ends. My question is how can i get the broken bolts out to secure the starter back to the motor? with out replacing the whole top end.

Well if its a stud bolt...drill it out and epoxy a new one in..If its got threads an easy-out shoud do the trick...good luck!

What I have done in the past is gone to a machine shop parts store and purchased a special drill bit for drilling out stainless steal. You spend quite a bit for just a drill bit, but your job is easier as it cuts right thru the steal. Good luck!
