electric start outboard and trolling motor on same battery

I was wondering if it is possible/suggested to run my electric start evinrude and trolling motor on the same battery. Pros and cons please! MB

not a good idea in my book.your trolling motor will run your starting battery dead rather quickly

Howdy, Mountainboy.<br /><br />It really depends partly on how much you use the troller and partly on the type battery you have.<br /><br />If you use your troller for positioning and not for lengthy runs, AND if your battery is a dual purpose (Start and Troll) using one battery is fine.<br /><br />That is the situation with two boats in my family. We use Wall-Mart Ever-Start dual purpose batteries in both.<br /><br />If you use your troller a lot you need seperate batteries of the correct types.
