Electric start with push button.

Hello, 93 Evinrude 15hp. Just got electric start kit in today with push button start. Paperwork shows to install everything to starter and rectifier. I guess I don’t need a solenoid?

the selenoid is for the transfer of high amperage load to the starter with the shortest route possible

key contacts will burn up otherwise.

The push button switch at the motor is ROBUST and no solenoid needed !

Dont need the rectifier either do you? Except for charging?

The kit shown in the picture has the battery charging coil and the rectifier too !!

Yes, it does so I will use those. The instructions call for me to use an OMC moly lube on the crankcase boss? What else can I use in place of that? Some marine grease?
