Electrical Conversion

I may have missed it, but I didn't see a thread on links or resources for converting a propulsion system to electric drive on this site. My online searching has produced limited success. With advances in battery and PV (photo voltaic) technology discovered recently, I'm wondering if it's time to go for it. An onboard generator would be OK. AC or DC (pref.) would work. Any help is appreciated.

Could do an A/C convertion but would need a large gen. I do work on golf carts this comes up allot about running off photo cells. To many amps for the cells. As for the gen would need a 15,000 wat gen to make it work well.
