Can any of you guys help take a look at the wiring diagram that I drew up and let me know if i'm on the right track with this?

Two specific questions:
1) Do i need a inline fuse for the 10 AWG feed to the from the deep cycle battery to the switch panel? if so, what size fuse? Where can i find one online?

2) Is there anything that I should do differently based on my diagram?

Re: Electrical help

Why is it everyone feels they need to have a switch for accessories that already have a switch on them. In this case, the GPS and VHF both have Power buttons. Why another switch? Why not just a single MASTER power switch that energizes the entire panel. So if you are forgetful and tend to leave things on, turn off the MASTER switch and be done with it. You can use one of the switches in the panel for that function. I also suggest a circuit breaker on the deep cycle rather than a fuse. This is typically 20 amp. Whether you use a breaker or a fuse, they can be found as close as your nearest auto parts store or any department store that sells auto parts. Even my local farm store has an excellent selection of wiring supplies.

Like the reason for climbing Mt. Everest: because it's there! Otherwise, I have to agree with you. It just adds another potential point of failure, not to mention the embarrassment of cursing out your "malfunctioning" piece of equipment only to discover the extra switch is off!
