Electrical problem 2000 Triton

I have a 2000 model Triton TR-20 with a Johnson 200 "silver bullet". Here is my problem.

Every now and then I will go to start the motor and nothing happens. The trim, lights, and pumps won't work. The horn and depth finders still work. All I have to do is dissconnect the positive side of the cranking battery and hook it all back up and everything comes back to life.
Last time it happen, I held down the trim button and jiggled the connections on the cranking battery to see if maybe I just had a bad connection and nothing happened. I had to take all the connecters off the battery and hook it back up. Like I was resetting a car computer or something.

Any Ideas??

Remove the cables from the battery and actually clean them. That means both ends. When you have them off, check the cables where they enter the terminals. Any sign of corrosion there indicates a high resistance connection. Cut the ends off and replace them or replace the cable. All of the things you mention that don't work need power from the battery via the engine. That power is not getting there so cables are the prime suspect. The stuff that does work is generally fed by the fuse panel which has a separate circuit to the back of the boat and does not pass through the engine harness or the battery cables. Wiggling connections to make something work should be a clue that the connection is not good.
