i HAVE NO ELECTRICAL POWER GOING TO THE 20AMP, reset switch on the right side of the motor. I have power going to the starter and starter solenoid. The engine will turn over, crossing terminals on starter solenoid, but will not start because no power to EFI.
I have power to trim pump but nothing up front at the switches or the ignition.
Where should I look for the loss of power.

fourwinns46

If this is a 2006 Horizon 200 SS, I would check the fuse board under the helm and then go to the Volvo Fuse and Breaker Board on the Motor.

Sorry about double posting, not used to the new forum.

Your owners manual should have a good electrical diagram. Get a test light or voltmeter and start testing everything. On my boat I can remove a cushion in front of the helm and access the plug for the electrical.

Re: ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS 1996 FOUR WINNS 2000 HORIZON

I'm having a simmilar problem. My 1996 is a 19.5' Horizon is in impeccable shape. It has been storage kept it's whole life, it was winterized every year of it's life until this year. The marina trippled their rates so we kept it at our friends dock. when spring came no one thought to change oil or anything.... My husband knows nothing about mechanics. I, on the other hand: was raised is a diesel shop. and I was a boiler-maker in the Navy. I'm new to iboats and to marine engines in general. I hope this site will be very helpfull.
Being a chick, I talk to much. So.... the boat would not start this spring, so I checked the cheap things first. connections, cables, fuses etc. thewires to the blower and the bilge were corroded but they worked. so I hit the stater while my husband turned the key. It STARTED! but a week later it started smoking and went out. WHile my husbnd was alone... so I replaced the impellor. THese engines seem upside down and backwards. Then it ran great again,But only for one day. My husband said that it clicked ones or twice then everthing on the pannel went out. I know the importance of PMS, so I am embarrassed to write this having not changed the oil or spark plugs since last year. Please help me figure out what causes these simptoms. I have a gut feeling that a bigger issue is causing the ipellor and starter to fail .

P.S/ do you flush freshwater engines? my husband says you don't. I am dismayed... I had to flush my Donzi after ever run in Florida.

Thanks for your help

Forgive the obvious but if there is no power at the helm fuse block, have you checked the circuit breaker next to the ignition switch?

I had not acctualy been to the boat since the last issue. and my husband said he checked the fuse. but , sure enough, the fuse to the ignition was blown. That is the third fuse I've put in their. So something is tripping out the electricle. I wonder if I have a bare wire touching metal or if my ground wire is ok. or if some ghost is in my electricle system

i have a 96 205 sundowner, the factory electrical harness are a joke. check all your wires for corrosion as four winns does not use marine wire. keep in mind if you do a contiuity test on your wires it only takes one thread to give you a positve test, so check the wires carefully, ive replaced several. ive also had wires melt do to a clean looking but not well connected ground

We had a similar problem this weekend with our Four Winns 180 Horizon. After stopping for lunch, the boat would not start. No horn, radio, blower, etc. After messing with it for about 5 minutes, I got it started but no electronics worked...no blower. Able to get back to the dock.
