Electronic Ignition Conversion kit........

I have a 1985 VIP Mercruiser MCM205 4.3 GM V6, after painful and annoying troubleshooting, it calls for a Ignition amplifier replacement. Instead of purchasing a used one for hundreds of dollars I am going do the 4.3L Delco Voyager EST Marine Electronic Distributor Kit. http://www.michiganmotorz.com/delco-voyager-marine-electronic-distributor-p-121.html

Has anyone done this?
Any tips?
