Elgin 28 motor-Can anyone help me learn about it?

Bought a Elgin Model 28 through e-bay because it's electric start. I have a Johnson 9.5hp that runs good, but I can't pull start it because of physical problems. The motor I've got coming is from a salvage comp. and I plan on trying to make it work but don't know where to find Info. on getting it together. Have pictures of the Elgin. Would be very thankful for any Help. ourhouseservices@earthlink.net

Hi David,<br /> Your motor was built by West Bend for sale through Sears stores. West Bend was the predecessor to Chrysler, and as such there may be some interchangeability with later model motors. They were fairly well designed motors and tended to run well with modest care and maintenance....<br /><br />- Scott
