I am stuck. I bought this to tinker with and see if I can get it running. I put a new coil and condenser so now I have spark. Pull starting it there seems to be a lack of fuel. I took the carb apart and cleaned all the jets, float valve ect. It will fire and at times seem as if it is going to run. Running for a few seconds. Is there a reed in this I should be looking at? It just seems even when it wants to run for a few seconds it runs out of gas. I have plenty of gas in the sediment bowl.

Made by West Bend (kitchen gadget folks) which became Chrysler and eventually Force. Before that it was Kissel which mostly made cars. Not far from where I live. Hartford, WI is their hometown. Fully air cooled? Use chainsaw oil. The tanks rust and clog the screen on the valve on the bottom of the tank. Put a bunch of sheet metal screws in the tank and slosh it around with a bunch of whatever liquid you want to use. Mineral spirits comes to mind. Flush it out good and retry. Lawn Boy used a very similar valve/screen some years back. D-series motors.

I did clean out the tank, but maybe not good enough.

cleaned out the tank again using the method described. It was clogged again, but now I have a good flow of gas to the carb and it still does the same thing. It wants to run, but just seems fuel starved.

It's a long shot, but it could have carbon-plugged exhaust ports. They sometimes did that. Have to pull the powerhead to take a look-see.

could be mud dobbers too. I pulled a sea of mud dobbers nests out of it when I took the tank and flywheel off.
